Ross Whyte, Business Development Manager at Add Energy – Asset and Integrity Management, presents a case study around Add Energy's journey to a successful Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) implementation using enterprise asset management (EAM) software - eMaint.
The project saw Add Energy support a valued power generation client in their quest to optimize maintenance management and asset integrity. The team were involved in building the asset register and technical hierarchy using tags extracted from engineering drawings, developing a maintenance philosophy and generating optimized maintenance strategies.
Add Energy were also tasked with sourcing a suitable CMMS which fit the culture and requirements of their client. It was quickly identified that common EAM solutions such as SAP and MAXIMO were too complex and expensive for their needs, during this market evaluation, eMaint, enterprise asset management software was selected as the most suitable CMMS for their operational and maintenance requirements.
Once the system was selected and customized by Add Energy, data was then loaded into the CMMS and tested before going live across sites. Enriching the foundation data for the CMMS and utilizing eMaint as their tool for asset management, now enables this client to have more clarity on the condition of their asset, benchmark performance, enhance maintenance planning and reduce maintenance costs through strategic management and visibility.
