Reservoir and Flow Simulations

Optimizing production through analysis and modelling

Enhance flow rates

Meet production targets with less investment

Optimize field development planning

Obtain accurate short and long term production forecasts

Our experts model flow in reservoirs, wells, subsea architecture and surface facilities to provide production forecasts, solutions for enhanced flow and requirements for field development

Static and Dynamic Reservoir Modelling

We use MBAL™, ECLIPSE™ and Petrel™ or equivalent software to model and predict reservoir behavior for field development planning, specialized studies, production forecasting and reserves estimates.

Well Performance Modelling

We use PROSPER™ and OLGA™ for modelling inflow and vertical lift performance in horizontal and big bore wells, and artificial lift simulations for platform and subsea architecture.

Production Chemistry and Fluid Characterization

We use PVTsim NOVA and PVTP™ for fluid characterization and for validation of fluid samples and laboratory results.

Production Optimization – Flow Assurance

We provide state of the art multiphase flow and PVT technologies to establish design solutions and operational procedures to monitor, model and optimize production. We help clients increase lifecycle asset value through opportunity framing, reviews of producing assets and provision of independent technical advice. Our toolkit consists of OLGA™, GAP™, RESOLVE™ and IFM™.

Production Technology

We provide well design support, production start-up monitoring and optimization, metering philosophies and stimulation design at any stage of the well lifecycle.

“Add Energy’s independent technical analysis and advice enabled us to understand the behavior of the reservoir to maximize flow rates and meet our production targets.”

Project Showcase: Integrated Production Modelling for Optimized Field Development Planning and Management

What We Did

Add Energy built an integrated production model designed to increase the economics of a gas condensate project by managing pressure losses and flow assurance throughout the production system.

The Result

  • Production forecasting and modelling of field performance
  • Field Development Planning was optimized by bottleneck analysis
  • Add Energy’s workflow and approach was adapted to all mega projects for this Australian Operator

A closer look at the RWIS design, how it works and the benefits that can be unlocked

Drilling and extraction of hydrocarbons is a complex and risky process, and operators must have robust safety assurance and contingency measures in place to mitigate danger, efficiently respond to any incidents and reduce the personal, business and environmental impact if an uncontrolled release were to occur.

In certain regions of the world, and for some operators, regulations and internal procedures mandate that fields cannot be developed unless the operator can demonstrate that the well can be intercepted and controlled via a single relief well drilling operation, as opposed to multiple relief wells, which is usually the norm.

Preventing a blowout while maximising flow: insights from our EVP of Well Control, Morten Haug Emilsen

Safety is always the number one priority in drilling operations, but this can often impact an operator’s ability to reach their targets and optimize future production. However, there are ways engineers can increase the efficiency of field development and maximise production, without compromising safety.

Relief Well Challenges and Solutions for Subsea Big-Bore Field Developments

Production optimization with less CAPEX is an ever-growing quest for many operators. Not only are operators focused on maximizing flow rates through larger bores, but they want to achieve this with less investment.

Whilst production optimization creates significant cost benefits for a business, it is critical to note that additional risks are introduced when bigger bores are developed. These include, but are not limited to:

During a period of low oil price, it is even more critical to optimize costs and identify ways to meet production targets with less expenditure.

Add Energy Delivers Successful Well Integrity Training Course in Perth

Mr. Terje Løkke-Sørensen, the Chief Technical Officer of Add Energy, delivered the company’s 4th  familiarization training course on the principles of NORSOK D-010 Well Integrity standard. A 1-day course that focused on the establishment of well barriers, including well barrier elements and how these are accepted and monitored to prevent loss of integrity that ultimately could lead to a blowout.

Service Spotlight: well operations management plans

As a part of our work across Australia, we provide management plans and independent integrity risk assessments for our clients’ offshore and onshore operations.

A well-structured, coherent well operations management plan provides a suitable level of detail that accurately describe the well, the operating envelope, the management systems in place and all the activities that take place at or in connection with the well; facilitating the titleholder’s ability to demonstrate a clear understanding of the factors that influence risk and controls that are critical to minimising risk to the integrity of the well.
