Meet our instructors
Add Energy’s Chief Technical Officer Terje Løkke-Sørensen has co-authored several well integrity manuals, including the NORSOK D-010 standard. With an M.Sc. in Petroleum Engineering, Terje has spent over 25 years working for various operators and service companies, both as an employee and consultant.
As Chairman of the D-010 standard for Rev.3 (2003) and Rev.4 (2013), Terje wrote several sections of the standard (sections 1 through 4), advised on the overall course structure and content, and coordinated input from over 20 industry experts.
Over the past 10 years, Add Energy's Learning Delivery Lead, Mike Meen has gained a proven track record of developing and delivering client facing learning content and implementing value adding programs across cultures in a variety of different industries.
As chair of the competence workgroup Step Change for Safety, Mike has experience delivering industry wide guidance on competence management systems as well as mentoring and supporting MBA, MSc and DBA postgraduates students.
Ray Tommy Oskarsen Ph.D., P.E.
Add Energy's Dr. Ray Oskarsen has been an integral part of an intervention team that has responded to a wide range of blowout and well-control incidents, including relief-well projects, around the world.
He began his career working for John Wright Company, which was acquired by Boots & Coots in 2009. In 2011 Ray began working for Add Energy and is currently serving as the Sr. VP of Well Control and Blowout Support in the Houston office.
Morten Haug Emilsen
Add Energy’s Morten Haug Emilsen played an instrumental role during the investigation into the cause of the Deepwater Horizon disaster in 2010. Morten co-authored the “Deepwater Horizon Accident Investigation Report” and testified as an expert witness in US District Court.
With a M.Sc. degree in Fluid Mechanics, Morten has responded to a number of blowouts worldwide, including relief well kills and capping operations. Specializing in transient multiphase flow simulations and drilling related technical software development, Morten has 20 years of experience with the OLGA software, both as a user and developer.
Ole B. Rygg
As a world-renowned blowout control expert, Add Energy’s Ole B. Rygg has been directly involved in a number of high profile well kill operations such as Montara (Australia), Macondo (GoM) and Elgin (North Sea). Ole’s team has conducted more than 1,200 well contingency studies and been involved in more than 60 real life blowouts, worldwide.
Ole holds a PhD in Fluid Mechanics. For the last 25 years he has been working on blowout control and contingency planning projects for operators all over the world.
