Add Energy completes Sea Lion-1 operations with Top Quartile Performance

Add Energy, contracted by Carnarvon Hibiscus Pty Ltd (CHPL) to provide complete Well Management Services for the Sea Lion-1 campaign, successfully completed the task with zero accidents or incidents on 16 November 2015.

Sea Lion-1, located in the offshore Gippsland Basin permit VIC/P57, reached a total depth of 1672m after drilling operations commenced 26 October, 2015. The well was drilled by Seadrill’s jack-up rig West Telesto.

Significant challenges were faced by Add Energy, including rapid mobilisation after last minute client restructuring, short deadlines to establish onshore support services and shore base, and then an extended weather delay. Despite these issue the Well Management team delivered the well on time and ahead of budget without any accidents or incidents involving any of our personnel or contractors. By drawing on our global experience, add energy delivered increased value to CHPL’s Phase One Sea Lion-1 Project through effective safety and performance measurements.
